What counts as an active request
Sent requests still collecting documents count. Drafts don't.
Last updated · Facts checked
An active request is one you've sent that is still collecting documents. Each plan includes a number of them at once: 20 on Starter, 100 on Growth and 300 on Pro.
What counts
| Request | Counts? |
|---|---|
| Draft (saved, not sent) | No |
| Sent and still collecting: Awaiting Client, In Progress, In Review, Due Soon or Overdue | Yes |
| Completed | No |
| Cancelled | No |
A request counts from the moment it's sent until it's completed or cancelled. It counts the same however many documents it asks for, and whether or not the client has uploaded anything. All request statuses
See how many you're using
The owner can see the count on Settings → Billing, under Active requests: how many you're using out of your plan's limit.
When you reach the limit
- You can still create requests and Save as draft.
- Send request is blocked with the message "You've reached your plan's … active requests. Complete or cancel one, or upgrade for more." Nothing is sent. What you've filled in stays on the page, so you can choose Save as draft and send it later.
- A recurring workflow set to send automatically can't send either. Those clients show as failed in the run, with the same message. Retry them once there's room.
- Requests you've already sent carry on as normal: clients can upload, and reminders still go out.
Make room
- Mark complete the requests where you have everything. Approving the last document completes a request automatically.
- Cancel request on the ones you no longer need.
- Or move to a bigger plan on Settings → Billing. Change or cancel your plan
Each request you complete or cancel frees one place straight away. Complete or cancel a request
Good to know
- During your free trial the limit is Growth's: 100.
- Your plan can't move to a smaller one while you have more active requests than it allows.
