For clients
Is my information safe?
Who sees your files, how your link is protected and how long files are kept.
Last updated · Facts checked
Yes. Your files and notes go only to the business that sent you the link. They use GarnerDocs to collect documents.
Who can see your files
- Only the team at the business that sent you the link. They have to sign in to see or download your files.
- Your files are kept in private storage. They're never on a public web page.
- Your documents aren't sold, used for advertising or used to train AI.
Your private link
- Your link is a long, random code made only for you. It opens your requests from that business, and nobody else's.
- Search engines are told not to list upload pages.
- You don't need an account, so there's no password to forget or have stolen.
- Some businesses also ask for a 6-digit PIN, which they give you separately and never put in the email. Keep it to yourself.
- Unless your link has a PIN, anyone who has it can open your requests, so don't forward it. If someone else may have it, ask the business to make a new one. The old link then stops working.
How long files are kept
The business that sent you the link chooses how long your files are kept after the request is finished. Then they're deleted automatically and the request leaves your page. They control your information and can update or delete it, so ask them if you have questions.
