For clients

You were asked for a different file

Find the note, upload the new file and see what happens next.

Last updated · Facts checked

If the business that sent you the link needs a different file, for example because a page is missing, upload a new one using the same link.

Steps

  1. Open your link

Use the link from your first email, or select Upload replacement in the email that says they need a new copy.

  2. Find the document

It's marked Needs replacement. Their note is in the highlighted box under it, with who wrote it and the date.

  3. Upload the new file

Tap Upload replacement under the note and choose the file. Include every page.

What happens next

The document says Under review again while they check the new file. If it's fine, it changes to Approved.

Good to know

  • Your earlier file isn't lost. It stays on the page marked "Not accepted", and they can still see it.
  • Reminder emails keep mentioning the document until the new file arrives.
  • The new file must be one of the types listed under Upload replacement, and no bigger than the size shown.
  • Asked for a new answer rather than a file? The item says Needs a new answer. Type your answer again and tap Save answer. How to upload your documents
  • Can't get a better copy? Tap I don't have this under the document and say why. If you don't have a document
  • Not sure what they need? Send them a note from the same page. Send a note with your documents
