Requests
Assign a request to a teammate
Give a request to a teammate, who then gets its notifications and its client replies.
Last updated · Facts checked
Open the request, select the name next to the due date (or "Unassigned") and choose a teammate. They get that request's notifications and the replies to its emails.
Anyone on your team can assign or reassign a request, including members.
Steps
-
Open the request
Find it on the Requests page and open it.
-
Open the Assigned to control
Select the assignee's name, or "Unassigned", in the details under the request's title.
-
Choose a teammate
Pick someone from your team, or choose nobody. You'll see "Assigned to" and their name, or "Request unassigned".
You can also choose who it's Assigned to when you create a request (it's you, unless you change it) and when you edit one.
What the assignee gets
- In-app notifications and emails when the client uploads files, leaves a note or the request is completed. They only get the emails they've left on in their notification settings.
- Replies to the request's client emails. When your client replies to an invitation or reminder, it goes to the assignee.
When nobody is assigned, the notifications go to your workspace owners and admins, and replies go to your workspace's contact email.
GarnerDocs doesn't notify someone when they're assigned, so let them know yourself. The request's activity records the change.
Find your requests
On the Requests page, use the assignee filter: Assigned to me, Unassigned or a teammate's name.
Good to know
- You can assign anyone on your team.
- Duplicating a request keeps its assignee.
