Statements as email attachments
Clients forward brokerage statements and tax returns from a personal inbox, or send phone photos of a pension letter. Then they sit in yours.
For financial advisors
New-client onboarding packs and yearly reviews: send each client one list through a private link, schedule the annual request, and let reminders chase the statements they forget.

Onboarding needs every account, the yearly review needs this year's figures, and both depend on the client finding the paperwork.

The review is booked, but the updated statements aren't in. You move the meeting, or you hold it with last year's numbers.

How it works
The same way of working for new clients and yearly reviews.
Pick a template
Start from your new-client or annual review template, then add, remove or rename documents for this client.
Create a templateSend a private link
Your client opens the link on any device and uploads each document against its item. No account, and their progress is saved.
Copy or share the client linkLet reminders follow up
By default, reminders go out 3 and 7 days after you send the request and shortly before the due date, listing only what's outstanding.
How automatic reminders workReview each file
Approve each document, or ask for a replacement with a note your client sees next to that item. Earlier versions stay in the history.

Features
Build your new-client and annual review lists once, then start each request from the one that fits.
Create a templatePick a day, a month and the clients it covers. Each year it creates their review requests at 08:00, as drafts to check or sent, which asks you to confirm first.
Set up recurring document collectionSay exactly which statement you need. Your client sees the description under that document's name.
Add, remove or rename requested documentsLast year's statement, one account of three, a cropped photo: ask for a replacement with a note shown next to that item.

Invite your associate advisors and client service team, assign each request to whoever prepares the meeting and see who reviewed what.

Add your logo and brand colourDownload a client's documents as one ZIP and file them in the system you already use. GarnerDocs deletes them after the retention period you choose.
Download all files as a ZIPEach request is one list for one client. Send the onboarding pack as soon as a new client signs on, with a due date ahead of your first planning meeting. For yearly reviews, set up a recurring workflow that runs Annually: choose the day and month, your annual review template and the clients it covers. If your reviews are spread over the year, create one workflow for each review month. With Current year as the reporting period, each request is titled with this year.
Your templates are typical examples to tailor to each client, not a list of what any regulator or custodian requires.
Files are stored privately with encryption. Only your team can download them, after a permission check, through a link that expires shortly after. Everything runs over HTTPS. Each client link ends in a long random code that GarnerDocs doesn't keep in readable form, and you can reset a link so the old one stops working. Files are deleted after the retention period your firm chooses, and client data isn't sold or used to train AI models. The Security page has the details.
GarnerDocs doesn't claim to meet SEC, FINRA, FCA or any other regulator's or custodian's requirements. Confirm the measures above against your own obligations.
GarnerDocs does one job: getting documents from your clients to you, complete and checked. It isn't a CRM or a planning tool, and it doesn't connect to your CRM, your custodian or any other system. It doesn't open accounts, verify identity, run KYC checks or profile risk. Your clients get a link and a list, and the files go into the system you already use.
No. Clients open the private link you send them and upload directly. There's no registration and no password to remember.
Set up a recurring workflow that runs Annually, on the day and month you choose, for all active clients or the clients you pick. If your reviews fall in different months, create one workflow for each month. Each run saves the requests as drafts or sends them, and reminders follow up once they're sent.
Each client in GarnerDocs has one email address. Add a household as one client and send one request: anyone with the link can upload, so your client can pass it to their spouse or partner. For separate links and reminders, add them as two clients, each with their own email address.
No. Your clients upload copies of their ID, and your team reviews them. GarnerDocs doesn't verify identity, run KYC or AML checks, or tell you whether a document meets your obligations.
For the retention period your firm chooses: 30, 90, 180 or 365 days after a request is completed. Then they're deleted, and the workspace owner is emailed 14 and 3 days before. Download what you need to keep into your own records first.
Use case
For law firms, lenders, financial advisors, insurance brokers and accounting firms that need ID before work starts: send each client one checklist, ask for a clearer copy when an ID is blurred or cropped, and let reminders chase the rest.
Use case
For financial advisors: a yearly workflow sends each client their review list weeks before the meeting, and reminders chase what's missing.
